I’m writing to share a new music project- ‘Isle of Souls’ and thank you for your help along the way.
This music was largely inspired by this past May, which was a difficult time when 3 unexpected deaths occurred close to me: two- related to my clinical work and one- an old friend. What do their journeys look like from this point onward? Who can say, but this music imagines, grieves, and seeks to find some understanding and peace.
The music is comprised of one long title track song that mixes elements of jazz, folk and singer songwriter genres and two separate string trio pieces.
The title song of this project imagines the soul’s journey after death and explores how we respond to suffering. Because of the mental health connections regarding the deaths I referred to, I’ve decided to make this project a benefit for National Alliance On Mental Illness. If you listen to the music I ask you to consider making a donation to this awesome organization.
Here’s a link and more information about NAMI: https://www.nami.org/get-involved/donate-to-nami/
‘NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. We are dedicated to improving the lives of millions of Americans affected by mental illness.’

Lastly, I talk about this project more in depth in an interview I did recently with CanvasRebel Magazine which you can read here:
